Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act 1980

When you purchase a car from Moores Garage you, as a consumer, are protected by the
Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act 1980 as you are buying a car for personal use from a legitimate car dealer. As a consumer you have the same rights if you buy an item second hand as if it is new.

Second Hand Cars

Second hand cars are cheaper to buy but it is always good to test drive a few cars of your choice prior to purchase. At Moores Garage we will be happy to arrange this for you.

Insurance

In Ireland it is compulsory by law to insure your vehicle before you take it out on the road. The cost of insurance varies depending on the type of car you buy, your age, occupation and driving record, your anticipated annual mileage, and whether or not you use the car for business, as well as pleasure and your 'no claims bonus'.

NCT Certificates

The National Car Test Certificate proves that the certified vehicle is safe and roadworthy. Since 2002 all cars in Ireland, with a few exceptions, must pass the NCT. All cars over four years of age need to be tested, they then need to be tested every two years after that. Any used car that is sold by Moores Garage will have passed the test and will have a valid NCT certificate to prove it.
